Summer time is “berry time” – we offer top quality

[Translate to Englisch:]

Sun, swimming and balmy summer nights – the warm time of the year has a lot to offer: One is the berry season whose start coincides with the begin of summer. The fruity-sweet summer companions are available again in all their delicious variations: Blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and strawberries further sweeten the hot days in so many different ways. You will be able to treat yourself to a few of these creations in the Platzl Hotel.

Just like with all the ingredients we use, we place special importance on the fact that the ingredients come from the local region. The chefs in the kitchens of the Platzl Hotel cook using predominantly Bavarian and seasonal products and this affinity to regional products continues to the breakfast buffet and in our hotel. We will present a few examples to you here before we get to the best part – your fruity refreshment in the Platzl Hotel.

Delicious regional cuisine in Platzl Hotel

In our magazine we have already reported to you on various occasions about the regional focus of our cuisine. An example of this was when our executive chef Michael Sobota personally visited asparagus growers in Schrobenhausen to see the regional quality of the “white gold” for himself. The Platzl bread from the “Brotmanufaktur Schmidt” also comes exclusively from the local region. Even the coffee beans for our coffee specialities are roasted in Bavaria and our tea comes from Chiemgau.

Delicious refreshment in Platzl Hotel

The strawberry is Germany’s most popular berry although it’s actually not a berry at all. It belongs to the family of aggregate fruits or etaerio, because the delicious red portion of the strawberry is only a “pseudo-fruit”. But this did not hold back the creative heads in Platzl Hotel from creating a refreshing summer drink. Enjoy a sparkling cool-down in the Munich summer with our self-made strawberry lemonade in Platzl Karree Boden & Bar or the home-made strawberry-basil lemonade in Wirtshaus Ayingers. Just come by and enjoy yourself!
