Your “little” Christmas celebration at the Platzl
It is always so nice to sit down together during the cosy Advent season to drink a toast to a successful New Year. The setting is informal, the atmosphere is relaxed and the food tastes particularly delicious. An abundant Christmas celebration does, however, involve substantial organizational work. If you do not have so much time left to plan something this year then simply say thank you to your colleagues and employees with a “little” Christmas celebration! At Platzl Karree and in the Josefa Bar we will provide you with the perfect setting for this.
“Team Advent” at the Karree
The Platzl Karree is decorated for the pre-Christmas season by our longstanding partner Ludwig Beck. This long-established Munich company uses its decades of experience in the Munich Christmas industry to ensure that you also enchant the Karree with a snug winter atmosphere. Great conditions, then, for your “team Advent” in a small group. For only 25.00 € per person and hour, enjoy our own punch or mulled wine and help yourself to our Karree specialties (onion and bacon cakes, wild sausage from the family hunting lodge in Oberammergau, plucked Christmas goose, cinnamon rice pudding, roasted almond ice cream from Der Verrückte Eismacher and Christmas pastries). On the Advent Saturdays, we also bake fresh waffles from 14:00 to 18:00 in our outdoor bar.
Ending the day in the Josefa Bar
The Josefa Bar also has particular specialties in store for you in Advent. Our team, around head barkeeper Patrick Melinz , has specially prepared aromatic Christmas cocktails and sweets. On November 21st, you can even learn how to prepare these yourself – on a pre-Christmas cocktail course at 7:00 p.m. Price per person: € 25.00.
In addition to this, every Saturday in Advent, we offer you an afternoon buffet to fortify you after your Christmas stroll: Plucked goose, mini baked apples, ice-cream made from roasted almonds… and a glass of champagne for a total of only € 19.00 per person. It will make you forget your shopping stress straight away!
Patrick’s cocktail suggestion for the festive season
Our head barkeeper Patrick Melinz has once again given his creativity free rein for his Christmas cocktails. He is happy to reveal to you the recipe of his personal favorite – the Bsuffane Christkind: (For all non-Bavarians: “The Drunken Christkind”)
- 5 cl falernum
- 1 cl frangelico
- 1 cl rum 73%
- 1 cl cream sherry
- 4 cl apple juice
- 3 cl Assam tea
- 1 cl almond syrup
- 1,5 cl lemon juice
Shake all ingredients with ice-cubes for 10 to 15 seconds and strain into the drinking glass onto large ice-cubes. Squeeze an orange zest onto the ready drink. Enjoy!
