Experience Munich Airport at close range
Explore historic aircraft and learn more about the airport in the interactive exhibition: a visit to Munich’s Franz Josef Strauss Airport and its Visitor Park is a special experience for guests of all ages.
Let yourself be inspired by this popular excursion destination and discover its wide range of attractions. After climbing around 172 steps to the top of the visitor hill, you are rewarded with impressive views of the airport apron as well as the two runways. For a small admission fee (approx. €1 per person), you can watch flight operations for as long as you like.
At the foot of the hill, historic aircraft are on display, including classics such as the Ju 52, the Super Constellation and the Douglas DC-3. Depending on the season and availability, some of these aircraft can also be viewed from the inside. Films and audio recordings provide additional insights into the history of aviation.
Exclusive insights for aviation enthusiasts
In the Visitor Centre, a free exhibition offers interesting insights into the world of the airport. Here you can learn more about international flight connections, aircraft handling processes and the general structure of Munich Airport’s terminals.
Munich Airport operates two large passenger terminals, serving many millions of travellers from all over the world each year and featuring numerous passenger boarding bridges for aircraft handling and boarding.
For refreshments during your visit, the restaurant “Tante Ju’s” in the Visitor Park offers a selection of dishes as well as a pleasant beer garden.
